As the new Director of Music at St. Marguerite d’Youville, I would like to introduce myself and tell you a little about my experience, education, and family as it pertains to my involvement in Music Ministry over the years.

I come to you after almost 11 years as the Founder, Piano Accompanist, and Director of Youth Music at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Winder, GA.  Though we started out at the Sunday evening Lifeteen Mass, the teens of this year-round ministry have served faithfully at the 10:30 am Mass for the past 6 years.  I developed The Children’s Choir 5 years ago.  They have participated at Sunday Masses with the Teens 4 times per year.       I have been a part of various Music Ministries in the Archdioceses since 2000.  My most recent Choral experience includes The Archdiocesan Festival Choir of Atlanta and the Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra Gala Choir. Since 1995, I have been teaching voice, piano, and guitar to students of all ages in the Atlanta area.

I hold a Bachelor of Music degree from Syracuse University where I studied Voice and Classical Guitar. After graduating, I began my Masters at the University of Miami in the Jazz Vocal Program.  In addition to training singers and musicians, I have a passion for Composing, Arranging, Sound Production, and Recording, which I tap into often in my role as a Music Director.  I also play Drums and Clarinet.

My husband of 32 years is a professional Drummer with a degree from the University of Miami School of Music.  We have three beautiful daughters. Each of my daughters has served a vital role in the church as Cantor and my husband has accompanied me most Sundays on Drums and Percussion.  I have been blessed to have my family join me in the music ministry at Saint Matthew, and I look forward to continuing our family tradition as I work to build up and edify the parish family of Saint Marguerite.
