Deacon Kapya Ngoy was born and raised in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo. He was a member of Opus Dei from his childhood until his late teenage years. He graduated from “Les Loupiots” High school in Kinshasa after which he pursued his undergraduate studies in the United States. He met his wife Maggie in Evansville Indiana 6 months after arriving to the United States. They were married on June 13, 1998 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Bowling Green Kentucky after they both completed their undergraduate studies. Deacon Kapya graduated from Western Kentucky University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering Technology. He has been working as a Civil engineer for several years. Deacon Kapya was ordained to the diaconate on February 6, 2016, and serves in our parish of which he has been a member since 2009.
Deacon Kapya and Maggie have three children; two sons and a daughter.
