Dan Bucklen, Member of Parish Council
I began visiting St. Marguerite D’Youville while a parishioner of St. John Neumann in the late 90s and became a member of this parish several years ago.
My wife, Mary, a retired special education teacher and I have been married 35 years. We have five children and six grandchildren. Our three boys attained the rank of Eagle Scout.
I have been a Lector and Minister of the Eucharist for over 30 years. My former parish, St. Mary in Tampa, Florida had a Liturgy Committee in which I was responsible for leadership of those two ministries. When Knights of Columbus Council 11138 formed there, I was a charter member and served as Lecturer. I became a Fourth Degree Knight in 1994. At present I serve as an Officer in the position of Advocate for K of C Council 12905.
My professional life has been spent over 45 years in the electric power industry and I am a NERC Certified System Operator. Recently, I moved from system operations to help train the operators that run the power system. I held the office of National President in the American Power Dispatchers Association.
Besides being a voracious reader, I enjoy automotive mechanics and have been Auto Service Excellence (ASE) certified in several areas of auto repair
